The painting that started, and inspired the Impressions series!
As an artist, it is always challenging/uncomfortable/difficult to venture into something completely new and unknown. Fortunately, my creative spirit is always up for a new adventure and it was this, plus a love for Nature and a Monet biography that inspired me to start this series.
“Paradise” was the first Manhattan Beach walk street painting AND the very first Impressions painting. This painting was created completely plein air (onsite) where I was able to capture the energy and feel of the scene as the day(s) passed.
Through the creation of this painting, I had a profound creative realization… years of painting thick, impasto teddy bears lent itself perfectly to capturing the beauties and organicness of Nature.
